FIRE BASE ROLLING PLAINS - SIT-REP

Greetings:

Al and I are honored to host the 2009 Reunion of the 372nd RRFS here at LEXINGTON, NEBRASKA  the crossroads of America.   Reunion dates are  THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY AUGUST 13, 14, 15, & 16, 2009.  Command HQ will be at the Holiday Inn Express  (308-324-9900) across the strip from the Heartland Museum.  The quoted price is $80.00 per night plus tax of 12%.  There is plenty of room to camp on the Museum grounds with limited hook-up of water and electricity available.  Lots of other camp sites in area.

We are conveniently located smack dab in the middle of the country eight miles from the 100th meridian.  The Museum is on the NE quadrant of Interstate 80 & Hwy 283.  Major air service is in Lincoln, and Omaha Nebraska, or Denver International to the west.  Travel time from Omaha is three and one half hours, from Lincoln two and one half, and from Denver is four hours.  There is also small air service into Kearney (35 miles east of Lexington) or into North Platte (50 miles west of Lexington) but this service always seems quite expensive.  If you elected to use this smaller air service we could make arrangements to gather you up.

This Reunion will be quite different than last years exciting event in the Nation’s capitol.  You will find the atmosphere somewhat less hectic and more relaxed. Personally I am looking forward to spending time to requaint myself with the group.  This will be a great time for those who have never attended a Reunion.  There will be lots to do, but you won’t  have to hike to the Metro, or hail a cab.  There will be plenty of time for one-on-one, with tons of military-type atmosphere.  Al even says he will demonstrate the art of filling a sandbag.

For those driving with GPS unit’s the address to enter is Heartland Museum at 606 Heartland Road Lexington Nebraska 68850.  Any questions concerning said event can be directed to one or all of the following:
Terry Lauby 308-324-2793 land line, or 308-325-0041 cell or tlauby@hotmail.com

Al Martin 308-324-4506 land line, or 308-32502527 or albert.martin@rcis.com

    Heartland Museum 308-324-6329 or HeartlandMuseum@Cozadtel.net

We will have the Hospitality suite at the Museum pretty much 24-7, and also at the Holiday Inn if necessary.  Whatever suits the group.  Our schedule will include the Saturday night banquet so be prepared for the sandbag wall & silent auction.  Expect the next SIT-REP in late March or early April.

Please let us know your intentions as soon as possible and we will plan accordingly.

ASA all the way!!!!
