Please view Daves photos from various locations in Germany.  These photos were given to me by Dave's widow Judith, when she visited my wife and I on Nov. 10 2008.

I met Dave in Bamberg. He worked with teletype transmissions. I was a radio repair man. When we were working evenings or nights and Dave had nothing to do, he would come to the radio repair shack and we would talk and once in awhile pick up a ball game in the US on shortwave.

A while after I was transferred to Altefeld Dave showed up there too. We were room mates there and Dave was my best man at my wedding in Copenhagen in early April 1956.  He helped me in various ways after I was transferred to Rothwesten and also after I returned to the states.

After getting on the internet I attempted to locate him but I had no idea where he might be and there were just too many with the same name so I gave up. I did not know about his middle initial.

Recently I received email from Dave's widow. I will show her email here. I am sure  anyone who was in Bamberg and Altefeld will remember him.

I wondered if you knew David who served in the ASA in Germany. In his address book he has a Wade Temple listed twice. One address is in Oxford, Pa and the other in Nottingham, Pa. If you knew him I would love to hear from you.

Thank you.

Dear Wade,

I am so happy to have made contact with you. I did a google search for ASA and found your page and recognized your name from David's address book. I have been looking at the photographs of your wedding and 3 letters/cards from Hilmer Nielsen and Sofi Petersen. David often spoke of trips both of you took to Denmark.

David and I married in April, 1965 when he was working for CARE in Benghazi, Libya. Before that he worked CARE in the Philippines and the United Seamen's Service in several spots. After CARE David was a middle school teacher in Ridgewood, NJ and then a high school teacher (German) in Maine.

David died October 2, 2007 and I feel compelled to make as many connections as possible. I regret that we didn't come across your information earlier.

I hope to hear from you again.    Judith
