There is a lot of information on the internet about this nice town. I have to say that I really did not know anything about it when I was there except that it was a nice place to go for rest and relaxation.
I remember being in a Gasthaus in December 1955 with a large group of soldiers from Altefeld. I remember singing Christmas carols. This was one of the nicest experiences I had in Germany.
My wife and I had a hotel room here in December 1955. We bought Christmas gifts for her family in Denmark. Also, we bought silverware in a nice shop on the main street. We did not pay a lot for it at the time.
Eschwege has it's own official web site and on Wikipedia there is a great amount of information. Please look at both sites and enjoy.
