A BRIEF HISTORY OF TWO ROCK RANCH STATION

Two Rock Ranch has served as an important outpost since the early 1940's.  Most of us remember it as an Army Security Agency Field Station, but it's early history began with its use with the Signal Corps in the early years of the Second World War.  For an interesting bit of history about those who served our country in some of its darkest years, and received little or no recognition, I suggest you click here to remember those other veterans who also served so silently a generation or two ago.

More Ranch history is available from two articles written in a Petaluma paper, and maintained on Phil Hodge's home page.  Click here for some more history, and click here for the final chapter of Two Rock as we knew it.

Two Rock Ranch ceased operation as an ASA Field Station in the summer of 1971, and the Coast Guard took it over as its only west coast training facility.  Although the Ranch has again been threatened with closure, it appears that the USCG will continue to operate it for at least another year.  The Coast Guard Training Center-Petaluma, as it is now known, has its own home page with a map of the Ranch as it now exists.  Click here to access the Training Center home page.
